Our Team

JoAnne Alaric

JoAnne, an award-winning documentarian and former resident of Nelson, B.C. currently resides in Burton, B.C. Graduating with Honours from the Selkirk College Independent Digital Film Program in April 2010, JoAnne’s film education at both Selkirk College in Nelson and Langara College Vancouver includes film writing, film editing, cinematography, lights and sound.

JoAnne’s practical experience in film and theatre also includes producing and directing of numerous theatre productions with Mirror Theatre throughout the Arrow Lakes. As a member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, JoAnne maintains her professional status within the industry while gaining practical experience working on a number of local filming projects, TV pilots and independent films.

Nancy Rosenblum

Nancy Rosenblum was born and raised in Los Angeles, California where she had been involved in video production and postproduction for over 20 years.  During her tenure she won ten Emmy awards for documentary television editing.  Among the many television shows she helped direct and cut are: Big Brother, Growing Up Gotti, The Real Roseanne Show, Dateline, the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and The Family Restaurant for Canadian Food Network.

Three years ago Nancy immigrated to Canada and moved to Nelson.  She helped develop the Independent Digital Film School at Selkirk College. Nancy is the owner and operator of Rosenblum Productions in Nelson B.C.

Nancy taught directing and editing.  She has shown her own video works at Touchstones, Oxygen and the Toronto film festival.

We are pleased to have Nancy bring her award winning talents in video production and post production to our team.

Rory Case

Rory Case, a native of Nakusp, graduated from the Selkirk College Digital Film Program with honours in 2010, now resides and works in Nelson B.C.

Rory specializes in digital film editing and is well-rounded in all areas of filmmaking including live broadcast camera work, throughout B.C. and Alberta.

Rory’s award winning documentary “Box Mountain Bowyer” has been featured in several film festivals throughout the Kootenays. Rory recently mentored with the editors for Producer/Director David Lavallee’s much-anticipated documentary pertaining to the tar sands and water issues  ”White Water Back Gold“. Rory has also worked and mentored with Emmy award-winning Producer/Editor Nancy Rosenblum on projects including “Ice, Sand, and Snow, the Art of Peter Vogelaar and Friends“.

Rory’s experience and creativity are a warm welcome to Number Five Productions.
